Meet the Artist
Ben Calhoun is the founder and frontman of the popular contemporary Christian band Citizen Way, with multiple #1 songs in the genre. Beyond his work as an artist and songwriter, Ben is a children's book author, a business owner, and the founder of the nonprofit Generosity Rocks — a fundraising platform for musicians.
Ben is currently on the road with his wife and children on the Daddy's Home Tour, and is available for booking shows that reflect faith and family.
The Story Behind the Song
"Lift My Eyes" is based on Psalm 121 and the knowledge that we can lift our eyes to the Lord no matter what is going on or where we are — even in the most isolated places in the world.
Ben was first inspired when he heard how, for those in remote villages, the sound of hope often comes from an MAF airplane. When they hear it, they look up.
"The vision I have in my head is of the roar of the engine coming over the hills into a village, and the people hear it, look up, and say 'hope is coming, food is coming, the gospel is coming.'
